Most STARaCom researchers are members of 2 axes, representing complementarity of research expertise and creating opportunities for inter-axis interactions.
A1: Devices will be integrated and validated in Axis 2 wireless and optical testbeds. Axis 5 signal processing and AI engines will be deployed in the Axis2 testbeds to demonstrate their ability to improve transmission performance.
A2: The testbeds will provide a vehicle for inter-axis collaboration where Axis 1 RF and optoelectronic device designs and prototypes will be experimentally vetted. This axis will interact with Axis 5 for integrating signal processing and AI enabled techniques.
A3: Via inter-axis collaboration, Axis 3 will onboard device performance and physical layer capabilities from Axis 1 and 2 and integrate control and telemetry interfaces to Axes 4 for mobile network optimization.
A4: Inter-axis collaborations with Axis 5 enables standardized application programming interfaces that provide configuration and state events for learning.
A5: This Axis will co-design algorithms to enhance Axis 1 RF and optoelectronic device performance. Signal processors and AI engines will be implemented in Axis 2 testbeds. Scheduling and learning techniques integrated into Axis 3 mobile networks, and Axis 4 AI informed application programing interfaces will be designed.
